Trek is Dead? Long Live the Gate.
01/12/2003 Source: Jessica Martin

The Galactic Senate: polls & voting for December 2003.

Nothing gladdens our heart more than to see democracy in action in the science fiction and fantasy world. If you feel the same, dear user, then here's our current and past online polls, as voted for by many a fine fellow (you too can vote, but choose wisely) ...

Trek is Dead? Long Live the Gate.

The word on the street is that Star Gate has now overtaken Star Trek in popularity. The Trek franchise has dwindled away until the relatively unpopular Star Trek Enterprise prequel is the only show left limping along.

Meanwhile, the long-lived Star Gate is so hot it's even getting it's first spin-off series, Star Gate Atlantis. So, my little couch potatoes, is Star Gate the new Star Trek?

Vote now ...

Trek has gone through a warp storm which has wrecked the franchise so badly, the company that owns the rights to the games is actually taking the series to court for financial damages. There will be no return to form. Star Gate is the new Trek. The king is dead. Long like the king.

You got to be kidding me, right? Star Gate is okay, but Star Trek has been going since the 1960s and will never die. This is just a bit of turbulance. The series will turn itself around one way or another and new series will be running when Star Gate re-runs are relegated to classics night on the SciFi Channel ... wedged in between Land of the Giants and Time Tunnel.
